If your platform is detected by SRS and passes a movement test but does not move when playing a racing or flight simulator, the issue is often related to game telemetry, SRS configuration, or the selected motion profile.
This guide will help determine whether the problem is with the platform connection or the game integration.
Common Symptoms
- The platform moves during an SRS test but not in a game.
- SRS detects the platform, but no game motion occurs.
- Motion works with one game but not another.
- Motion stops after a game update.
- The platform moves very little despite normal gameplay.
- SRS is installed but the platform has never moved.
Step 1: Confirm the Platform Is Connected
- Turn on the platform.
- Open SRS.
- Confirm that SRS detects the platform.
- Check for connection errors or warnings.
If SRS cannot detect the platform, first follow the Platform Not Connecting to Your PC troubleshooting guide.
Step 2: Run an SRS Movement Test
Before testing, ensure that:
- Nobody is standing near the moving platform.
- Cables are secured and cannot become trapped.
- The platform has sufficient clearance.
- The emergency stop is accessible, if equipped.
Use the approved SRS movement test for your platform.
If the platform moves
The controller and motion system can respond to commands. Continue to Step 3.
If the platform does not move
The problem may involve the platform connection, power, configuration, or hardware rather than game telemetry.
Do not continue changing game settings until the platform passes its independent movement test.
Step 3: Verify Game Compatibility
Confirm that your game and its current version are supported by SRS.
Some titles require specific telemetry settings, plugins, or additional configuration.
Check the current game-specific instructions from Sim Racing Studio.
If the game is not supported, normal in-game motion may not be available through its standard telemetry integration.
Step 4: Enable Game Telemetry
Many games must be configured to transmit telemetry information.
Depending on the title, this may involve:
- Enabling telemetry output.
- Selecting a telemetry format.
- Configuring UDP telemetry.
- Entering an IP address.
- Setting a telemetry port.
- Installing or enabling a supported integration.
Use the instructions for your specific game.
Do not copy telemetry settings from another title unless SRS specifically instructs you to do so.
Step 5: Check Firewall and Network Settings
Some games transmit telemetry over the local network.
If your game uses network telemetry:
- Verify that the game and SRS are using the intended network configuration.
- Check that the telemetry destination and port match the game-specific SRS instructions.
- Confirm that Windows Firewall is not blocking required communication.
- Restart the game and SRS after correcting the settings.
Avoid disabling your firewall entirely. Use application-specific permissions where necessary.
Step 6: Select the Correct Motion Profile
A motion profile controls how telemetry is translated into platform movement.
- Open SRS.
- Select the appropriate game.
- Choose a compatible motion profile.
- Check whether the profile has been disabled or configured with very low movement intensity.
- Test with a known-good or default profile before making advanced adjustments.
If the platform moves with a default profile but not a custom profile, review the custom settings.
Step 7: Check Whether SRS Is Receiving Telemetry
Start the game and enter an active driving or flying session.
Check the available telemetry indicators in SRS.
Telemetry is being received
If SRS receives telemetry but the platform does not move, review the motion profile, platform connection, and software warnings.
No telemetry is being received
The problem is more likely related to the game integration, telemetry settings, or network communication.
Return to the game-specific setup instructions.
Step 8: Compare with Another Supported Game
If available, test a second supported game.
- If motion works in the second game, focus on the original game’s telemetry configuration.
- If neither game produces motion, review the SRS setup and connection.
- If the independent SRS movement test also fails, stop investigating game telemetry and troubleshoot the platform itself.
Step 9: Restart the Software
After making configuration changes:
- Exit the game.
- Close SRS.
- Reopen SRS.
- Start the game.
- Test again.
Restarting both applications may be necessary for telemetry configuration changes to take effect.
When to Contact Support

Include:
- Platform model
- SRS version
- Game title and version
- Screenshots of telemetry settings
- SRS connection status
- Whether the SRS movement test works
- Whether another supported game works
- Any SRS error messages
